Alison grew up on the coast of Maine. She attributes her love of gardening to her grandmother who
had her in the garden before she could walk. Alison and her husband moved to Seattle in 2001, shortly
after graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in Theatre Design.
After working in an office for several years she decided that life under fluorescent lights was not for
her and began to pursue her degree in Landscape Horticulture at South Seattle Community College.
Alison believes that even the smallest yard, patio or balcony can provide habitat and sustenance for
wildlife while still being beautiful and enjoyable for the people who live there. She especially enjoys
working with homeowners who are as passionate about their outdoor spaces as she is.
When not helping people with their gardens, Alison enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and
miniature dachshund, Oscar. She also likes to spend time knitting, reading and of course working in
her garden.
